McLean, Virginia – Celerity Government Solutions announced recently that Douglas Berry has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President (VP) of the Enterprise Technology & Innovation (ETI) Practice. In his new role, Berry oversees the design and implementation of the company’s advanced technology solutions. He plays a key role in shaping Celerity Government Solutions’ technology strategy, as well as applying that strategy to on-going operations, business growth initiatives, and strategic capture, ensuring Celerity Government Solutions’ clients stay at the leading edge of technology.
Voicing his enthusiasm on helping Celerity Government Solutions clients embrace the benefits of rapidly changing technology, Berry commented “The global IT industry finds itself in an exciting and challenging time. Technology continues to evolve at a blistering pace, fostering expectations of more for less, and in less time. Users in every sector are demanding richer functionality, greater access, and more rapid analysis of the exponentially increasing volume of data becoming available. They call for more powerful capabilities and fewer impediments to achieving their IT-supported mission. At the same time, there’s tremendous pressure for things like better data protection and higher degrees of personal choice around one’s online presence. As Government organizations here and around the world work to adapt regulation and guidance to protect IT from malicious exploitation, they find themselves squarely in the middle of a great technology struggle. With a broad set of distinctly relevant skills, Celerity Government Solutions stands as a trusted and capable partner, able to help clients navigate these challenges, which are a global IT reality. It gives me great pleasure to join such an outstanding team and be a part of helping to solve our clients’ most difficult challenges.”
Berry brings more than 25 years of technology and IT industry leadership experience to Celerity Government Solutions. Most recently, he served as the Senior Director of Solutions Strategy of Fulcrum Co. He also served as VP of Civilian Agency Programs at SI International, a large publicly traded IT integrator, where he helped the company achieve exponential growth that eventually led to its acquisition by Serco North America. As VP of Government & Enterprise Solutions at Serco, he led the highly successful implementation of the London Cycle Hire Scheme. Berry also served as VP and CTO at a small Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned consulting firm, launching a flagship IT transformation and modernization initiative valued at more than $2 billion. Berry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University and served as a volunteer in the U.S. Coast Guard for 15 years.
